Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 2026

🔒 Short version: The ResolveTime Mac app stores all data locally on your Mac — nothing leaves your device. The optional ResolveTime Go iPhone app (subscription feature) can sync your jobs and times to a secure EU server so your Mac can read them — but only when you switch it on. This website uses Google Analytics only with your explicit consent via the cookie banner.

2. What data the Mac app collects

ResolveTime stores the following data locally on your Mac, in the file ~/.davinci_tracker_data.json:

  • Names of DaVinci Resolve projects you have opened
  • Start and end times of tracked sessions
  • Manual time adjustments and comments you have entered
  • App settings (inactivity timeout, Finder tracking preference)

This data never leaves your device. The Mac app has no server connection and requires no internet access after license activation.

3. ResolveTime Go (iPhone companion app)

ResolveTime Go is an optional iPhone app that tracks travel and on-site production time for your jobs. It is free to use on its own; connecting it to the Mac app is a subscription feature.

  • Location (only if you enable it): If you turn on automatic travel detection, the app uses your device location (GPS) — including in the background while you drive, with your permission — to detect when you are driving and to measure travel time. Location is processed on your device to calculate the duration. Your raw GPS coordinates are never stored or transmitted. If you enable Mac sync, only the resulting times and the approximate place names of a drive's start and end (e.g. street or town, derived on your device) are included — never raw coordinates. You can switch this off at any time, and it is off until you enable it.
  • Local storage: By default, all data (clients, jobs, videos, times) is stored only on your iPhone.
  • Cloud sync (subscription only): If you enable “Connect to Mac”, your clients, jobs, videos and tracked times are sent to and stored in a database so the ResolveTime Mac app can read them. This database is hosted by Supabase, Inc. (970 Toa Payoh North #07-04, Singapore) on servers located in Frankfurt, Germany (EU). The data is linked only to a private, randomly generated sync code — no name, email or account is required. No raw GPS coordinates are synced; only the approximate place names (e.g. street or town) of a drive's start and end, derived on your device, are included with the tracked times. See Supabase's Privacy Policy. You can stop syncing at any time by switching the connection off; to delete synced data, delete the items in the app or contact us. Retention: synced data is kept until you delete it or your subscription ends; afterwards it is removed. Note that the jobs and clients you create may contain the names of your own customers: for that data you act as the controller and we process it on your behalf under a data processing agreement.
  • Live Activity notifications (subscription only): When sync is enabled, the app registers an Apple Push Notification token (a Live Activity "push-to-start" token) in the same EU database, linked only to your sync code. This lets the live timer appear on your lock screen when a drive is detected in the background, without opening the app. Nothing beyond the current job name and start time is sent. The token is deleted automatically when you switch sync off, and you can also request its deletion at any time.

4. Purchases & payments

All purchases are processed by Lemon Squeezy (Lemon Squeezy LLC, 2261 Market Street #4764, San Francisco, CA 94114, USA). Lemon Squeezy acts as the Merchant of Record, meaning the purchase contract is between you and Lemon Squeezy, not between you and ResolveTime. Lemon Squeezy handles payment processing, invoicing, and VAT on your behalf.

During a purchase, your payment information is processed directly by Lemon Squeezy. ResolveTime does not receive or store your payment details. See Lemon Squeezy's Privacy Policy for details on how they handle your data.

5. License activation

When you activate a license key in the app, the app contacts the Lemon Squeezy API to verify the key. During this request, your license key and a hardware device identifier (Mac hardware UUID) are transmitted to Lemon Squeezy's servers. This is the only time app data leaves your device.

6. Website

This website uses Google Analytics 4 (Google LLC, 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA) to collect anonymous usage statistics, but only if you consent via the cookie banner. Google Analytics uses cookies to distinguish visitors and measures page views, session duration, and traffic sources. The data is processed in the USA; Google LLC participates in the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework. You can withdraw consent at any time by clicking "Cookie Settings" at the bottom of any page.

If you decline, no analytics cookies are set and no data is sent to Google.

The website is hosted by Vercel Inc., 340 Pine Street, Suite 701, San Francisco, CA 94104, USA. Vercel may process server logs including IP addresses. See Vercel's Privacy Policy.

7. International data transfers

Some of the processors named above are based outside the EU/EEA. Where personal data is transferred to such a third country, the transfer is safeguarded in accordance with Art. 44–46 GDPR by the EU Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs), agreed in a Data Processing Agreement (DPA) with each processor:

  • Lemon Squeezy (USA) — DPA including SCCs.
  • Google LLC (USA, Google Analytics) — DPA including SCCs; Google additionally participates in the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework.
  • Vercel Inc. (USA, website hosting) — data processing terms including SCCs.

The data synced from ResolveTime Go is stored on Supabase servers in Frankfurt, Germany (EU). A Data Processing Agreement including SCCs is in place with Supabase, Inc. for any access from outside the EEA.

8. Legal basis for processing (GDPR)

Where the GDPR applies, we process personal data on the following legal bases under Art. 6(1) GDPR:

  • Performance of a contract — Art. 6(1)(b): providing the apps and, if you enable it, syncing your clients, jobs and times so the Mac app can read them, including delivering the Live Activity timer; verifying your license key.
  • Consent — Art. 6(1)(a): automatic location-based travel detection in ResolveTime Go (you enable it explicitly) and analytics cookies on this website. You may withdraw consent at any time with effect for the future.
  • Legitimate interests — Art. 6(1)(f): protecting our service against misuse and ensuring its technical operation (e.g. server logs).

9. Your rights (GDPR)

Under the GDPR you have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict and port your data, to object to processing, and to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. Since all app data is stored locally on your Mac, you can view and delete it at any time by editing or deleting the file ~/.davinci_tracker_data.json.

For data synced from ResolveTime Go (subscription), you can delete it directly in the app, or contact us at support@resolvetime.app to request deletion. For questions or requests related to purchase data held by Lemon Squeezy, contact us at the same address.

10. Changes to this policy

If this policy changes materially, we will update the date at the top and, where possible, notify you via the app or email.
